KATHMANDU : The work of collecting data on the damage caused by the earthquake in Jajarkot is starting today. The District Administration Office is going to start the work of data collection on the damage caused by the 6.4 magnitude earthquake with its epicenter at Ramidanda of Barekot on Friday night.
Assistant Chief District Officer of Jajarkot Harishchandra Sharma said that since it is not certain how much damage has been done as on Friday and Saturday, they were focused on rescue to reduce human losses, they are going to start collecting data only from today.
He said that an estimated 1,000 houses were completely damaged due to the earthquake and said that it will take time to get the details of the damage.
He said, “We are starting work from today to get all the information about how many houses have been destroyed and how many families have been affected by the earthquake. On Friday and Saturday we focused on rescue to reduce human casualties. From today we will start the work of collecting the details of physical damage.”
