KATHMANDU : An emergency meeting of the cabinet is being held at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
The meeting being held from 10 AM is preparing to decide on whether to bestow national honor upon the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly, Subas Nembang. Nembang, who was also the vice chairman of CPN-UML, passed away on Monday night.
The cabinet meeting is preparing to decide to give national honor to Nembang. Once the cabinet takes the decision, the Nepali Army will be involved from the management of Nembang’s body to the funeral.
UML party leaders have announced that Nembang’s body will be kept at the party’s Chyasal headquarters throughout the day on Tuesday. His final rites will be conducted following Mundhum cultural traditions on Wednesday, contingent upon the arrival of his sons from the United Kingdom and Australia.
